    Let's say, for discussion, that you have an education-niche website. Now let's say (dream on!) that you just got links from harvard.edu, yale.edu, and stanford.edu to your home page. Yes indeed, as you watched that home page's rankings rise dramatically, you would be quite impressed with the value of off-page work.

    You're not going to get those links. But the point is made: links do count. I once had a PR6 backlink from an Ivy League university student page, and it clearly boosted my rankings.

    Obviously, off page techniques work and will keep working for SEO. without it there would not be any relevant traffic to your website and also the keywords will not show up in top SERP.

    Yaa Off Page is also working yett but just beware of bad quality work, nofollow link's and bulk quanity work.. because these days SEO want only smart work like Do Follow link's, nice content work, Quality Work etc..

    I think off page SEO is still important. The off page techniques are now changed. New techniques include guest posting, video sharing, participate in relevant forum discussion, slide-sharing, image sharing, profile creation and most important business listing. These techniques definitely help you to create quality backlinks.

    Yes, Of course off page is still working for the SEO as it always was it has just changed its way as not the work is much more legitimate i.e. much more good the quality of off page activities is just increased rest the working is same.
