Our traffic has still dropped 40% organically since the April update

Has anyone else fell the same or have they recovered

We are a eCommerce site with good domain and been around since 95

We use to have 2,3,4 listings now we have 10, 11, and 12 listings in all our keywords

The ones that took our spots have been Amazon or other big named companies

    Has anyone else felt this?

I hear, the more organic your site's growth has been (meaning, no artificial SEO boosts, no targeted link-building, etc.), the less impact SE updates will have on your traffic.

Not true. We have only organic links, I have never even requested a link. Our content is homemade, and we have been on the web since 1998. But our traffic is cut in half since the first panda, and every update it is cut more. Where we used to be number 1 for a keyword, Sears or Walmart has taken over, or some copycat who stole our content.

So whats the future is the playing game is skewed?

The big sites have taken over and we are left lower rankings

Does this mean SEO might be dead or we have to just fight for scrapes in the 8, 9, 10 spots

You may have been a target of someone' negative SEO. Have you checked your link profile with tools like Majestic or Ahrefs? Maybe it is a good time to start playing with newly introduced Disavow Link tool from Google for you.

My site was also not recovered and I'm doing SEO continuously, I'm hopeful that one day it would be on the first position.
