My site has been de-indexed by MSN/Live.com for nearly 6 months now and I can't figure out why... is there anyway to ask someone within MSN/Live.com why or do something about it? It is highly ranked in Google and Yahoo! already, but no where to be seen in MSN...
As far as I know msn de-index sites if more than 50% percentage of the backlinks are from link exchanges. I guess if this percentage will be reduced the msn would reindex the site.
One of my sites ONLY has one-way links, is ranked 1st in google and yahoo for its main keywords (quite competitive), and is just not indexed in MSN I submitted several reinclusion requests to MSN and nobody ever replied back That's just silly if you ask me
I only have 1 link exchange setup, the rest are natural links....so that wouldn't apply for my site at all...
the really weird thing is that MSNbot keeps hitting my site to get new updates on it...but still doesn't index anything. from awstats....very odd.
I have a similar problem. I had 2 sites, both ranking well and then one day......GONE! That was months ago and nothing I've tried seems to get them re-indexed. That said, the traffic from MSN was so small it doesn't really matter to me. Twelfty
I'm also apart of this support group Anonymous non-msn site owners. I've contacted them several times and I keep getting the same answer that says sites get indexed, deindexed and reindexed every day your site was probably deindexed and will be reindexed soon. I've got that answer when it started - 7 months ago and I've got the same one 3 months ago and last week exactly the same. I don't think it's related to link exchange, although I have made with this site. But I have done with others and they rank well on MSN.
They are having problems after converting to Live search. The crawler finds a new site in so many days and the visit frequency has also decreased.
MSN bans sites very easily for small things and then you don't get back in for a long time or ever in my experience. Check this thread out: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=79415&page=3&highlight=reinclusion I have seen bans for excessive reciprocal linking and obvious over-optimization. Did you email ? The msndude is the real representative from msn who seems to be no longer around and I think there is a new guy in that role.
Once msn have indexed all subpages, but not the home page of my site. This was really strange to me. And of course no traffic from msn. I ignored MSN and now things are ok. I don't know if this will help, but try to find several home page links from different websites with lots of back links. At least it wont hurt you.
If your website has a XML or RSS feed, you can add it to My.MSN.com. It seems to pick up my new websites within a few weeks after submitting my feed.
first of all... how old is your domain? from my experience msn does not care for new domain/sites the bots will come and crawl but not index... and how long were you indexed before they de-indexed you? another thing you could try is find out who is ranking for search terms that you are targeting in MSN and beg them for a link exchange
