Still not in top pages!!

Hi guys!

I need a bit of help with

www.theafricangreyparrot.com

It won't seem to go to the top pages!! I have submitted to lots of directories (and even paid a submitter). It is DMOZ listed.

Any tips on how to get it "up there" or is it more of a matter of time?

It does take time. Find some niche directories as well. Something more targeted. Pet sites in general. I would also get a blog, make a few entries a week and blog roll with related blogs.

 

I've never done a blog before - wheres a good place to start?

 

Whoops!! Just noticed one influencing factor - the link in my signature was missing the .com!!

 

heh, you mean what blog platform to use? www.wordpress.org
If you have cpanel, there should be a fantastico option to upload it easily. Then there are a few blog forums like www.bloggertalk.com as well as a blog section on this forum. www.problogger.net is also a wonderful resource. Just start writing random stuff about parrots.

Well have finally managed to get to 17th in Google for phrase "african grey parrot". Not bad going but would like to try and get top 5. Any more tips?

 

You could always try and see if the 16 sites above you will give you a free or paid link.
