Okay.... I have about 6 articles on ezine now and right now my domain is just fowarding to my hop.... I have read that I should make a landing page..... but I have also read I should send them to a blog first..... then i read i should send them to a squido lens!!! I am so confused... where should I send my traffic?
You should send traffic to whatever is going to get you the most results. Personally, I don't think sending traffic to a squidoo lens makes any sense at all if you have a seperate website that you are trying to make money on. You should always send your traffic directly to your website, probably a landing page if you're selling something. The reason is, is because the more steps you make the customer go through to get to your "buy" page the less people will actually get there. For example, lets say you are selling shoes. You have an article that is sending you 100 unique visitors per day. If you send them to your squidoo page, you will get a percentage (less than 100%) that makes it to your website. Lets just say 75% (probably high), from there, you send them to a landing page about your awesome shoes... you get another 50% from there that actually go to the order page. In the end, you would be getting 25 less people to your landing page than you would if you just sent them straight there, and probably fewer sales as well. In my personal opinion, squidoo should only be used to put up information about the product or service you are selling. From there, you might do basic link building techniques to get it up in the Search Engine Rankings (SERPS). The end result is getting traffic from there as well, but not really promoting it too much. This is how I feel anyway.
