It looks like it's okay now... if you check your ad_network_ads.txt file, the newest ads aren't getting that message. Did you by chance delete your ad_network_ads.txt multiple times recently in one day or ever have more than one ad_network_ads.txt file on that domain?

You are getting the message on the newest ads in your ad_network_ads.txt file?

Also, I pulled the logs from yesterday and your site made 7,157 requests to the ad server for a new ad. 1 new ad every 15 minutes works out to a maximum of 96 per day under normal circumstances. So for whatever reason the server was not caching ads. It did start caching them properly at 6:30 pm (PST) last night. The only other thing I can think of that may cause it would be if your server was over it's disk quota and was not allowing the ad_network_ads.txt file to be written.

no - server is fine - I have plenty of room.

the file is there - and has data in it.

the ads are still displaying that message

Well as I said, all new ads pulled from the ad server since 6:30 pm don't have the message (look at your ad_network_ads.txt file for ads at the end). As far as why it happened to you yesterday, I'm not sure, but for whatever reason your server was making a massive number of requests to the ad server (sometimes as many as 20 per second).

Your server just made 1,700 requests for new ads in the last hour.

Your server is not caching ads properly or just going crazy.

Not sure, I guess you could disable the ad network for now if you want. First thing for you to do would be to find out *why* it's not caching the ads properly.

I updated the ad_network.php code (get it from the setup instructions when you log into your ad network account) to do file locking for writing out the cache file. This is the only thing I can think of, and something I've been meaning to do anyway.

Update your ad_network.php file, flush your ad_network_ads.txt file and see if it's okay.

On a side note, you need to fix your ads in your archive.
