Hi all there, There was a thread last November here about the very same subject but I open an new thread here for clarity. What I have learned about it: This is a very peculiar case so it wont happen to you but please ensure that you don't do it: * I helped a colleague (who is not my friend on FB) to secure her account. As FB asked for a mobile phone (and the need was temporarily and Facebook does not require you to give them your own mobile phone number) I gave her my mobile number, I received a text and all was ok. Note that I had previously used my own mobile phone on my own account too but decided to remove it later on, so Facebook accepted my number on her account (otherwise they wont accept numbers used recently). Now, the day after this event, she was proposed not only most of my friends but also a friend which I had previously un-friended. I made a complaint to FB (and she also did I guess) and my list of friends from her find friends list disappeared completely. Now she even does not have the normal find friends list nor the "People you may know list" one normally has. Nothing. So unless Facebook did not fix the bug, they do take mobile phone numbers as a "find friend" tools in case the very same number was used on other accounts. But this accident is closed. * Just to test what the subject says, I created two fake accounts on facebook and started making friends (without having mutual friends) and then I have started visiting those two fake accounts regularly with my own real account to see if my name would pop up as "People you may know" in their profile. So far nothing. But note that all accounts have the same IP address so I cannot say what happens when there is distance between accounts. In conclusion, I suspect that Facebook proposes you the friends (or people with the same interests/workplace/city/etc) of the persons who saw your profile- even if not directly the persons who went to see your profile which is a break of their own rule too... But the real reason for this post is: anyone wants to give it a try and run a few tests with me? Thanks
