How can one create a sticky post on a blog hosted at blogger.

A sticky post should act as an announcement and always stay at top.

    Thanks.

"Posts are sequenced chronologically, with newer posts appearing at the top. If you want a particular post to be always at the top (sticky post), you will have to play with the dates. When you create that sticky post, at the bottom, click POST AND COMMENT OPTIONS, then predate your post to the latest possible, as shown in the screenshot above."

Peter Chen has a lot of good Blogger tips, although that one was for Beta Blogger. It may still work.

I actually made a CSE for Blogspot last year with over 30 Blogger help and tip sites.

Here is a search for "sticky posts".

My first thought on this subject, was to create an Html widget for your sidebar. Title it Sticky Posts, Recommend Posts, whatever and hard code the links into it. You can set and forget it this way without ever having the future date come due on you. Plus this keeps it seperate from your recent posts list.

Why can't you just Add An Element (Gadget now???) and drag it above the posts.

Make it a Text element, enter the information you want and Save it. Then drag that Element to the top of the Posts column.

That's how I've got the ads at the top on this blog

Seems to me you could put anything you want into the element

Unless I don't clearly understand what you are trying to do......

Now that Blogger has Post Scheduling feature it won't let you make a blog post sticky by setting the post's date to a future one.

The best way now is to add a Text/HTML gadget from the Layouts tab of your blog and then drag it above your Posts widget. Write what ever you want to have in your sticky post in the gadget and save it. The Text/HTML gadget will now look like a sticky post on your blog.

    Hope this helps! :)

    Cheers!
