Stereotyping of 16 year old scooter drivers...

Some random man (i never even saw or met before) gave me the middle finger while i was driving though an estate at 9:15pm on my 50cc scooter at 20mph. I am 16.

I was wearing a proper motorcycle jacket, proper gloves and a new helmet, i wasn't driving fast or recklessly... i wasn't dressed a chav, because i am not a chav, i wasn't dressed insanely or stupidly.

So.... a 16 year old, at night, driving though an estate on a 50cc scooter, dressed in motorcycle gear, going at 20mph in a 30 zone (speed bumps prevent me going any faster), and some random idiot on the pavement gives me the middle finger...

I did a u-turn, said to him "What the &$££ was that about?" He walks away, and i shout "YOU F*^%%$g W^%$£^$^R".

It is a mutual understanding right.... Did i do the right thing? I wasn't angry, i was more confused than anything...and offended.

I wish parents would stop buying their chavy kids scooters... they will go and wreak it, or crash at the end of the day. I am a sensible scooter driver, and i cannot stand the sight of scooters driving fast or recklessly around.... i hate chavs.

So basically, i am a chav, because i drive a scooter, and i am 16 and i drive though an estate a night.

My scooter is 5 years old... it wouldn't even be in existence right now if chavs owned it.

Sounds a little unusual Rob. Let me play devil's advocate here - maybe he was offended by the high-pitched wining of your scooter? I know the sound of scooters can be annoying.

Errm... my scooter doesn't sound like a lawnmower. I have a tuned exhaust (cost £110), and has a load deep bass sortof sound, like a modified car.

It is still strange, and i still don't understand why.

edit: a chav is someone who lives on benefits and profits from the benefits to buy products which normal people can afford. Chav stands for "Council House Alcohol and Violence." Basically a loser from the ghetto who is a gangsta wanabe.
