Make no mistake, the creation of fine tattoos is an art-form in itself! There are many pretenders who think they have what it takes to practice this popular pastime yet few succeed with any gravity.

To become a much admired tattoo artist, someone who is sort after and paid handsomely for their work one must approach the goal with a serious demeanor.

The following are suggestions to achieve this aim:

    (1) Do some basic medical training, even a simple first aid course initially in order to learn about the functions of the human body and the importance of good hygiene in maintaining health.

    (2) Practice your artistic creations through drawing and sketching whenever you get the chance. This improves the standard of your work and visualizing.

    (3) It is a good idea to enroll in art classes to learn some of the fundamentals or even to brush up on lessons from the past that may have been forgotten. Of course many tattoo designs that are popular are straight copies from other sources, but there is a more impressive look to original, well-designed creations.

    (4) Begin a file of favorite images and ideas that you collect from pictures, magazines and photographs. A separate folder with clear photographs of the best tattoos you've seen will be a source of inspiration for years to come. Visiting some of the countless tattooing websites on the Internet is also a great way to be exposed to the best on offer.

    (5) When it comes to the practical art of tattooing, it is highly advisable that one enrolls in a certified course that clearly teaches the steps and tools used in this most intricate of disciplines. Some are lucky to gain apprenticeships with top artists and learn the craft thoroughly by this channel. It is never advised that one sets up a homemade business with poorly kept and sterilized instruments as this can lead to an endless multitude of problems.

Tattooists produce best results when the practicing artist is thoroughly involved with and gaining pleasure from their work. As with many pursuits in life, a passion for your interest is paramount to achieving the biggest of goals and the finest designs. Enjoy!
