This is a pretty good thread going on here, and I'd like to throw another question out there.

For those of you who use social bookmarking sites (digg, stumbleupon, technorati, furl, del.ico.us, etc...) how much time do you invest in these? I haven't done much with these sites other than save my posts for a quick backlink. I wonder if I spend some time networking on these sites, if it will pay off more? On the other hand though, I don't want to spend a lot of time making friends on social sites if the traffic I end up getting is minimal. Any opinions on how to utilize these to their potential without eating up too much time?

Here are a few things you can do to really boost your traffic:
    - SEO
    - Forum sig
    - blog
    - Social bookmarking sites (use digg for short term traffic like about a day or two and use stumble upon for long term traffic)
    - Try and crack JV deals
    - Get lots of Affiliates to promote your product and pay them 50% or whatever you wish per sale.
    - Blogrush (This is John Reese's new widget it brings free traffic to your blog)
    - Submit articles to several article directories (this might help you a bit with your seo too).

Once you start generating free traffic keep on testing and tracking this traffic once you know what your conversion rate is then you can work out a massive adword campaign like if your sales page is really converting then adword will be the best source of traffic cause it will generate traffic instantly and you wont have to pay your affiliate or JV's nor will you have to do hard work of seoing and other stuff. But make sure you work out your conversion rate otherwise your PPC campaign can go sour and you might go into loss. So first test and track everything and then make a lot of money.

These are just my suggestions end the end you have to decide what works for and what doesn't.

First of all, let me say that BlogRush does NOT work!
Don't ever use it. Even if you have a 15,000 pageviews you will only receive a couple of visitors to your site. Its just not worth it. Don't even try. And just stick to the other things that other people have told you here.
