    There is no "set in stone" steps. For a newly built site, you need to add lots of content, and not just any content -- quality content. You could also join a few forums related to your niche, put your site in your signature, and get active. Hope this helps.

    Since your site is fairly new (and domain new as well, i assume) you'll have to start building authority and you might even wanna consider waiting a year before you really push things on the SEO side. Truth is Google won't give much authority to a new domain too quickly.

    However, you can start getting links from high page ranking forums, article sites and using press releases for all the new happenings down at your site to get maximum exposure and such.

    Yes, you have to make sure that you are doing well with onsite seo, for that you can search here for ONSITE SEO tips. If you are fine, you have to get more quality backlinks to your site from other sites. That will bring you more traffic. For more info, you can check out threads over here in DP.

    I would start at creating niche categories within your sites broad topics. Then optimize each post page for targeted keywords, then social bookmark each page of your site.

    Thats always a good start. :)

    If you want fast traffic from search engines, do PPC(Paid). But if you want quality traffic that has high percentage of conversion, do SEO(Free). Since you have a new build site, I suggest you begin with SEO, creating contents and link building would be your bestfriends in this field.

    The first to do you do is to do an on-page optimization for your site and the next is the off-page optimization which is the link building process in which you can drive traffic to your site. You need to check the traffic of the site before starting the link building.

    SEO and SEM both are different and different tectics used in their process. Adwords and PPC consider as SEM. you have to market your website through online. Google SEM and you will find more about it.

    Google always prefer old domain so if u r new you to use targeted keywords from which keyword you want Google to crawl your site then check the search of your keyword , Then work on that particular keywords for which you wnat rankings , submit your web on High PR directories and many more thing yu have to do then you will get result :)
