What can threaten a domain's owner? What are the ways to steal domain names? How to caution against them?

A slightly better grammatically structured post wouldn't have gone a miss. What exactly are you asking here?

You can't legally 'steal' a domain.

Theres no way you can protect your own domain, it's up to you to protect ur account details and password and not let others gain access. Simple as :)

You can't, no-one can. You can increase the safety of your domain by prohibiting transfers and setting auto-renewal on the domain. However, never rely on the auto-renewal systems;)

Here are a few steps that I have taken:
    1) use namecheap.com
    2) change password to a massive bunch of numbers and letters often

Thats pretty much all one can do although I have not heard many stories of domains going missing at namecheap.

That article didn't mention two other important tips, though:

    1. Use strong passwords.

    2. Protect your email.

Or to summarize the whole thing, stay on top of your domain name/s.

What about the policy of 60 days transfer lock upon any account info changes ?
I had been feeling bit secured about this feature and I really loved that.
    But now !

Do You think GoDaddy is trustworthy domain registrator? Have its domains ever been missed?
