Wow after reading this thread I can safely say I will never buy a domain or hosting from Yahoo ever. If Yahoo treats a big and valuable customer like shyte then how will they treat a small timer like me?

I really hope you get all your domains back mate, this is unacceptable from yahoo.

Godaddy or any of the larger more serious companies are fine .. but do it well before your expiration, like 3 months if you can!

I am more than amazed that yahoo can play god with things that dont actuallly belong to them. it is almost criminal. i guess its written into the contract at some point but even though no one should have the right. Does a Landlord have the right of posession to anything the tenant brings in to the landlords house?

    You're right
Just wonder why nobody sues them.
Guess if that is all true, Yahoo would be in biiiiig trouble. Maybe its the beginning of their troubles now.

    Sounds outrageous if true ...

It seems Melborne It is not much better as mentioned earlier. More than a week and I still do not have access. Plus they want to charge me more to recover domains that have fallen into redemption because I did not have access to renew them!

I also hate yahoo for the hidden costs they charge us.
Better go with godaddy where everything is clear.
I would support all MrCrow's Statements.

I cannot believe what just happened, I have tried very hard to help people get their domains away from Yahoo ! People who had their accounts locked by Yahoo and were being screwed by Yahoo.

I have written emails on behalf of DP members to my contacts at Melbourne and have tried very hard to help.

Some kind soul gave me a red rep for my posts in this thread! I would ask that person to please explain what I did that was so "childish" so I may realize it and never do it again.
Does anyone feel I have been childish in this thread, if so please let me know, so I can keep from doing it again!

If you agree with this person and feel you need to red rep me I understand but I would prefer you let me know and I will correct myself.

If you feel I have been trying to help you can do as you see fit!

    Thank You

Seeing all these, I decided to move my domain from yahoo to Godaddy..

I never felt transfer was a tedious procedure (even though its the first time I am transferring a domain). It was really cool.. A week's time, my domain is at Godaddy..

I dont know about others experiences..

Here's some words of wisedom...don't break the TOS, and you should be fine.
Why do people think that companies are eager to turn away customers i.e. you? Obviously, you have done something, and I'm pretty sure you have an idea of what it is. no?

Well for starters ... no I havent broke the TOS and according to internic what Yahoo is doing is improper -

So please dont Assume nothing - My case is due to them charging my account a few thousand dollars and cant tell me why or what I paid for ... so after 3 times of them doing the same thing and autodrafting my account over 3 grand ... without any domains renewed or any other service rendered and when I ask they tell me they are checking into it for nearly 3 months now ,,I finally put in a charge back...

So please tell me what kind of TOS would it be to allow them to charge my account so much with no explaination why on 3 occassions and after 3 months still not know why .... anyone in their right mind would do a charge back and keep them from taking more money out - but because I have done this they have locked me out ....

SO now please offer me some infinate wisdom on this matter which internic, my bank , my lawyer and a circuit court judge all say is illegal

    Thank You

It's funny, cus I have been on yahoo forever, but just in the last week I called them for the first time, when I saw an abberant charge on my bill. It was nothing near what you are dealing with, but I had a nice talk with Yahoo. See, I registered some domains on Yahoo, but transferred them to Godaddy. Yet, yahoo is still charging me the registration fees every year, although I am now paying Godaddy for those fees...I talked with them for a good while, and I still don't understand how all that works and why they still charge me as well.

do a search online of all the people telling my exact story ... Yahoo screwed them ..

But you talk about you with the few domains and everything going good ... I am happy for you ..

Try to manage several hundred with them and say you want to transfer all to another registrar .. they get ugly really fast

They are doing the same thing at AOL still after many years

Another thing I didnt mention is that I was talking to the Loss prevention specialist supervisor - she said they have so many complaints about Yahoo services that they are no trying to deny them from debiting peoples account in the entire system for all their banks

Mine was due to a tos violation and even though they would never tell me I do think I know what it was.

I run a free host and sometimes I get phishing sites that are promptly deleted on notification. That’s it. Automatic termination, no access to your domains, no explanation, no help, out hundreds of dollars, a simple email would have fixed it.
