you guys mispelled melbourneit.com pretty badly. little difficult for someone to follow your suggestions.

i'm glad i didn't jump on the bandwagon and register with yahoo. same goes for ipowerweb, you register your domains through them, but in the end, you don't own them.

it happened to me, too with iPowerWeb. I got billed on my credit card but I even lost the domain. I tried to save $2 by registering through ipowerweb and ended up having nothing and still paid $2.95.

I should have stuck it out with NetFirms!::mad:

I didn't even read the whole thread, but you guys are wac. What's all the fuss about? You just log into your Yahoo account and "unlock" the domain. Then go to the registrar of your choice and transfer it. It'll take you like 3 minutes of your time. Unbelievable how people propogate misinformation.

    Hi Exam,

What you said, applies for .com and .net domains only. Try to transfer a .info or .org or .biz or .us domain from Yahoo. You can never do that. It requires authorization code and Yahoo will never give it.

OK, my bad. I only deal with .com's so that didn't even cross my mind. :)

I just went back and read the OP. You're right, but you can have TOS problems with any host, really. That being said, I probably wouldn't host with them either.

Well trust me I have 250 domains tied up with them right now and if you are so VERY much smarter than the well know internet attorney we have retained and also the CEO of Registerfly.com who is fighting for us on our behalf and also the Customer Service Rep who Godaddy put in charge of my account with 3000 domains in it who is also fighting on my behalf then please do tell us all how ..

Because even Internic has become involved in my case against Yahoo .. so maybe you know more than them to and their misguided too ...

We will anxiously await your informed info on this matter

    Thank you

    Alll of them are .com's

TRust me I don't want to waste my time spreading revenge .. I truly am trying to warn people - So they dont get caught up like I am -

On top of all what I have been saying , Yahoo has debited my account over 1200 dollars and caused 30 some overdrafts at 35 dollars per overdraft

When we ask what they debited my account they say they will get back to me , it has been almost 2 months

So my bank put a block on my account... Yahoo used a way call forcing a charge and did it again for another 500 dollars causing another 21 overdrafts at 35 dollars ........ still no answer..

MelbourneIT has reveiwed my case and they have asked Yahoo to get with me and straighten this out... that was 10 days ago with still no word from Yahoo

I'm sure your experience is a very real one, and I'm sorry to hear about it. My experience with Yahoo domains was a good one. I bought one domain for $1.99 on sale, waited 60 days (ICANN rule before transferring), then unlocked the domain with the link in my Yahoo account, and initiated the transfer at GoDaddy. It went off without a hitch. Again, I'm sorry to hear that your account got screwed up.

I didn't know that yahoo will deal this case with such a manner... Standing at ecw's side, it's really way too much.. Maybe there's some misunderstanding but i guess it's hard to resolve... Good Luck! ;)

MelbourneIT will never give you. First Yahoo must release the domain from its reseller account and then only MelbourneIT will give you a authorization code. MelbourneIT will not do anything that angers Yahoo. YAHOO IS THE LARGEST CUSTOMER OF MELBOURNEIT. MelbourneIT cant survive with doing biz with Yahoo. Even MelbournIT will play games and doesnt give you authorization code. They made me cry for my .info domain which I able to get out from them with great pain.

    Hi CROW,

Can you please tell me your case with Yahoo in detail so that other DP members will be benefitted.
