Yahoo customer care = 0 i think 100% of the mail they get is handled by robots that send standard texts (and that is if you get any response). If someone got an "human" answer out of yahoo please tell us, i didn`t. What happend is wrong on soo manny levels. you should complain to the custumers protection agency in your country and ask for damages (even if they are intitled to terminate the account, they must tell you why and customer care should be available 24/7)
To be honest, I have got a human reply from yahoo customer care. That was during the early periods of their 2.99$ domain offer. I dont know the present situation.
I finally got somewhere on Wednesday after over an hour and talking to numerous people telling me they could do nothing. I got to speak with a supervisor who after some persuasion gave me the number to technical support so could see about getting my domains transferred. The number is 866-849-8258 for those of you having similar problems. The lady who helped me was very kind. She spent more than an hour sending a request to Melbourne IT to release my 42 domains so I can get them transferred. I am not holding my breath as I have not heard from to Melbourne IT yet, but at least someone is trying to help. My advice is to get on the phone and refuse to get off without speaking to a supervisor of some sort. Otherwise they will send you back to the abuse email.
I assume that purchasing an online gambling or online casino domain name will be unnaceptable with regards of their TOS. Purchased few weeks ago a 5 year $15.00 domain name, I wonder if my account will ge frozed or something. I better make some diligence. Thanks for the heads up post. I'm happy you kept going until you partially resolved your issue with them. Good Luck. -Joaquin
Yahoo is guilty of FRAUD - they say they sell you a domain name but sell you nothing, they merely lease it to you - look at their TOS - it states they own the name and can withdrawl it at any time - Yahoo Domains and Yahoo are Crooks
Oh my gawd. This whole incident scares me.. really scares me.. I have more than 100 domains with them and 50 of them have sites running on them.. if any one site gets in some trouble I will loose everything?? I am really scared.. I think its better to move now then have problems later. I remember, I used to have problems with hosting providers and never with domain registrars but now.. even this.. oh my gawd...
If anyone is having problems with Yahoo let me know , I found a way to get the domains away from Yahoo -If you have domains , get them over to a different registrar way way before renewal and if you plan on putting alot of work into the domain move it first. I can't urge you enough
contact melbourne IT and tell them you want to get away from Yahoo. Yahoo resells for MelvorneIT.com - let them know you dont want to be under them , they will make you renew the domain with them 1 more year. But it will finally be your domain
Yahoo did push them to Melborne IT for me but they misspelled my contact email address so I still do not have access. Melborne IT seems is just as slow at handling requests but they are working with me. I had one domain expire, luckily thier website lets you renew domains without having to have access. I guess they dont care where the $35 a year comes from.
Keep your Domain Registration and Web Hosting Company different. If you keep both at Yahoo, then be ready to be fucked. Transfer your domains away from Yahoo.
