I have ordered the extra RAM to solve this situation... 20 days ago. Is it possible to receive a deadline from you????????????
LOL! As I can see these guys are resellers.... they need the money first to pay to the real company... Best regards, Jakomo
Hi, I deeply apologize about the delay you had with your RAM as Tim obviously should have updated you which is one of the reasons we had to let him go. There was a delay in the RAM upgrade as the server was one of the older white box servers (our data center now uses Dell Poweredge) and they had to ship RAM to the data center the server currently resides in which was delayed due to the location it was ordered from. Yes we do resell our servers through another data center which is not uncommon at all. We're a direct partner with our data center and always have staff on site through them. We're widely known for the top notch service and support we provide for our customers and Tim was in the wrong here and I admit that 100%. Once this was brought to my attention I had this taken care of right away. I'm not saying that it justifies the delay in your upgrade but please know that it's not typical with us as due to the fact that we do resell servers through another company we are limited to their response time on the upgrade of a server that is no longer offered by them. Please contact me directly at rick@hostnine.com as I would like to provide a credit to your account for the inconvenience this caused you. I know that doesn't make up for the issues you had on the server before the upgrade but it's honestly the least we can do as at HostNine we always put our customers first and if you're not happy we're not happy.
WoW....Just now I was about to open a reseller account with HostNine later possible rent a couple of dedicates, so as always I decided to make a search here at DP and found this thread wish stopped me from doing it. Hosting companies should be careful, especially with their support, things have changed, and now a day we the webmasters and web developers are more well organized, there are 3 or 5 leader webmaster forums (including DP) and i could say that at least 90% of the English speakers webmasters are registered on then. Be careful people, this could kill your business or worth get a bad reputation like the one that have companies such a 1n1.
They just fired the support guy responsible for this mess. What else do you want him to do - burn down the data center?!
Hostnine has a very decent reputation on WebHostingTalk, so I think this was just an isolated situation. The support member was fired, so Hostnine definitely takes these sorts of things seriously. Either way, sorry to hear about your troubles.
wow.. so tedious to get the ram added. i would be angry as well. hmmm... nice to hear from hostnine, to clear the air. in future if talking to a person through email not solve the problem. its advice to call them, likely you are talking to someone else in the level1
I use hostnine.com too and have been very pleased for over a year. The support has always been great. I have even had the hostnine guys do small code fixes on my site, yea go find another host that will make edits to your code to get your site working again. In light of this, I will stick their link in my sig =P
it is not hostnine's fault, some times it doesa happen... the datacenter people do not have only your server to look after , they have hundreds of other servers too.... best of luck, i hope you get it done soon and smoothly
mmmm I decided to give ten a shot, thanks to the recommendation of a member here in DP, i will post my review after the first month.
