Stay away from Google Cash Offers, Google (TM) Money Let the Banning Begin?

I have read a blog stating,

"Google recently decided that the affiliate offers that include their name such as Google Money Tree, are no longer ok to promote on their Adwords advertising network. I suppose promoting a product that is essentially using Google’s brand trust to sell is never a good idea to promote through Google. The banning that took place this week also were due to people who promoted the “Make Money Online with Google Cash Offer.” There are about 20 different offers, mostly owned by a few companies and these things are extremely popular. They use Google’s brand recognition."

My question has this happened to you or anyone you know?

I'm surprised they let it carry on for so long. These sites have been around for months - and they should take them out of serps too. They're a complete con.

Thanks for your replies, I guess some product creators and affiliates may have to rethink product names and be careful of what offers they promote or just don't use adwords to promote them.

It is more than just a banning. It is a lawsuit.

Yep, everybody advertising offers not abiding the new FTC rules will be banned sooner or later. Unfortunately many newbies are affected, since the people publishing the product often don't really care or warn anyone. I'd guess a huge percentage of Clickbank products will be affected.

Rule of thumb: If there are testimonials for the offer, stay away for now. Don't build review sites without clearly stating your connection to the publisher (that you are an affiliate and make money from the sales).
