Hi anyone help me with great stats software to track my website, http://www.b2rhosting.com looking for great programes or tips hints. Thanks in advance Pitorian free web directory, http://www.b2rhosting.com /phpld/
I am also looks for a some stats software which are very accurate and what others have found to be good. Very Important The stats have to be able to track where my visitors are coming from and also the referring site/page and the stats must also track where the visitor goes in my site and how long they say. I need to know this so that I can see which advertising methods that I am doing are giving me the best results and which ones are giving me the worst traffic.
I found a neat bit of software called adtracker, its great.. It tells you every thing from who clicked your ads to were the traffic came from, its a piece of script put at the footer of your pages were you place adsense and adlinks, or adsearch, even yahoo publisher, it tracks the clicks and what ads... fab software, here is the link, http://pitorian.astracker.hop.clickbank.net/ Its the best I have used yet.
I was looking into getting some offline software so that I can dump my logs into it and so that it can produce graphs and stuff for me. But now I realise that I am most probably going to need a script for my site instead as some of my sites is made up of about 5 different subdomains which are hosting on different accounts on my server that produce their own stats and logs each. So php and mysql will do the job, but I need it so that I can actually see the referring site that brings the referrer to me and then see where they go in my site, in other words, how many pages they visit and what pages they visit. I need to know this so that I can easily check to see which sites that I am advertising at is sending me untargeted or frauded traffic. If I can see that they are not going on many or no places for most of their traffic that they are sending to my site then I would know that they are likely to be fraudsters. I will be advertising all accrossed the Web in the next few months for quite a few of my sites, and this will not just be free advertising. I will be paying for most of it so that is why I need to have some good stats about my visitors. If I don't and I have some of the sites that I will be advertising on ripping me of then I could end up loosing money rather than gaining money from it. Also, thanks for the link. I took a look at it and it looks quite good, but it would have been nice if more time was put into it. It looks like the scripts are good, but the effort on the actual design is not that good. My sites receives lots of traffic and has well over 100,000 pages. Some of the links that I clicked on the demo stats just show all of the links and don't even have pagination attached to them. Something like this would just make a computers browser to stop responding every time due to the amount of information getting shown in the one browser window. If there was pagination then it would be a different story.
With Google analytics, I still can't get the welcome ID yet, so havent tried thats why I went for the other stats software. I like the adtracker, it tells you all about who came from were, were they went to and how they got to you, what keyword brought them to you, and the IP's used so you can track back, it tells you the page they landed on and the ad that brought them or ad that they clicked on, and the exact time with the google server to match up your ads with clicks etc.. Anyway I found it to be very useful, and I have now changed ad layouts positions and even colours all sugested by the software, worth the money.. Good luck.
I already use Awstats. Awstats is good, but it doesn't give me the information that I need so that I can see extactly where the visitor was referred from and what pages of my site he visited. That's why I need a more details tracking script. Awstats is to general. You get the urls where you visitors are coming from, but that's no good. How can you tell if these visitors are just clicking on one page and then going straight of your site. If you were doing ppc advertising then this is what normally happens due to the amount of fraud in some of them. I now that it says what pages they entered and what pages they had left, but how do I know if that was the same visitor that entered the site and then left. It's to general and not enought detail. The problem with Analytics is that you have to sign up and the stats are hosted with Google. Now if I decided to compete with them in the future where as I probably won't, but if I am a little freit to them then they can easily access my stats and see the sort of things that I am doing. Plus I don't won't my stats hosted on anybody elses server as my sites stats are private and I don't want competitors and things getting hold of this information. Also with Analytics you have to have an invitation and I have not got time to waste. I want to get my business rolling today and not next year or the year after. lol. When you are in business you have not got time to waste. Wasting time is costly.
Well I have searched high and low and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So the only thing that I can do is that if I can't find what I am looking for then I will have to build it myself. So I have now started coding my new stats system in php. Hopefully I should finish it in a day or two. All it will be providing me is which sites my traffic will be coming from, the entry and exit pages and also the path they take through my site and how long they are on each of the pages plus also probably the keywords they type into the search engines to find my site. Once this information stats getting tracked I will then be able to search on the data so that I can see how many pageviews my sites is getting on average per referring site, what sites are giving me the most and best traffic, etc. This sort of information is important. I don't need to track robots or the amount of visitors my site is actually getting as I have other scripts set up in place for that already. I just need to track what sites my visitors are coming from and what they do on my site and how long they say. I have already started my script and will most probably finish it within the next day or two.
Check out http://www.nettrackerlite.com. It's free (up to a certain # of pageviews... I think 1 million), and has decent stats. It isn't as robust as Google Analytics, but the interface is easier to understand and it has all the basic stuff you need. Oh, and it has good "drill down" capabilities to zero in on individual visitors, where they came from, what pages they viewed, their IP/domain name, etc... (something that Google Analytics doesn't have.) LC
