I've got a bunch of domains I'm looking to develop, but I just don't know which route to go. A static website or a WordPress blog. I know which terms I want to rank for in Google (only about 3-5 terms per site), but I just don't know whether I should make a static website or a WordPress blog. Ideally, I'd want to go for the one that would rank faster or do better in the SERPS. Also, which type of site do you think lasts longer in the SERPS? With the blog, I'd only post about 3-5 articles on it, and just leave it. With the static website, I can just have 3-5 articles, and unlike a blog, people won't know when I added those articles, so they won't think the site is abandoned / out of date. Any advice on this please? Would really appreciate it.
The reason so many people go with WP is because there is so much support, on-page optimization is made easy by the abundance of extensions, and it's already fully featured. I use a WP platform for most of my websites, and it works great.
Obviously Wordpress it has ping option which will notify blog directories and vital source that you have updated your blog.
Hands Down wordpress. Blogs seem to attract alot more links especially from other blogs. Not to mention the pre-packaged SEO, ping function, and simplicity in adding new content make blogs a far better choice for SEO IMO. Definately get indexed and ranked faster with a blog. Maybe you start a poll to see what the silent majority think as well. Good Luck
wordpress is great, it is useable for many purpose, if you just need to some article you can edit the themes so it is fit with your requirement. but if you want to use static page, it is also okay because html is a basic for web page. But using a CMS tool like wordpress will help you for easier maintenance
Wordpress will provides you the better searchability to enhance your website traffic as compared to static website. This is due to the reason that wordpress provides you pingback system so that your can enhance your blog traffic.
Thanks for the advice guys. Might just have to go with WordPress then. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
