Static site with WordP subdirectory - do I direct backlinks to the main url or blog

    I have a site up since 2000, and I am adding a wp blog as a subdirectory to blog and pic post to focus on certain keywords and other efforts at social media pormotion. I was not clear if I should be pointing backlinks to my blog page or to my index.html page.

    I also know there is a google site map plug in for the blog page...do I want to use this or add the blog page to my current site map.

    Ad the subdirectory to your main domain site map. Get as many backlinks to as many of your URL's as you can. Including all those in the subdirectory.
