Is there a way to add a category, then add static pages to these categories and not have them appear on the home page?

I am working on a website for the company I work for. We were using joomla, but I dropped that and moved us over to wordpress.

The company has about a dozen departments, each department needs a static page with a description of what they do. The reason why I say they are static, is because the department description might need to be updated once or twice a year. The home page needs to have news posted on it, not the departments.

Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

Hello, Yes, there are a option to do this in Order press. You need to do the Following:

    1. Create a Category.

    2. Go to the Write option and then select the PAGE section.

    3. The you will found a option named " Page Parent" then you will found there your created Category. So, you will select that category and assign the page at there.

I test the system and it is working.

    Thanks.
