Is it better to have a static page or have the home page updating every time there's a new post for SEO purposes, Does it make a difference?

    Thanks

There are advantages of both strategies:

    1) Dynamic Homepage - this may bring the search engine spiders back to your site more frequently. The search engines would keep finding more relevant keywords on your homepage each time they visit.

    2) Static Homepage - you would have full control over your homepage content and you could could optimize it around specific keywords much easier. Your relevancy wouldn't vary depending on which posts are on your homepage.

So between the two I would choose a static homepage. It is just a lot easier to optimize.

We always recommend having both, your main site with the static content and a blog with the latest company information and or articles.

You can do this easily, just create your normal website as usual, once you are done set up a new folder /blog/ /articles/ /news/ or whatever you like and install a blogging platform. It works great!

Google loves new content. But if you have a page that's already ranking you shouldn't be making a lot of changes there :) So keep some parts static but add new content regularly.
