State high court limits seizure of cars of prostitution and drug suspects

    Lovell pointed out that under state law, cars can be held for a maximum of 48 hours in prostitution cases.

    "They can take the car and impound it," Lovell said, leaving the client to "have to explain to his wife what happened to the family car."

    Now that is getting difficult to explain where the car is ;)

    seizing peoples property gets out hand

    Have noticed that if you are charged with being a big time drug dealer or other type of criminal they seize your assets

    But if you are charged with embezzlement, insiders trading or other white collar crimes you get to keep your assets, and buy a lawyer

    Some states have had deals with the police where they get a percentage of whatever they can seize, so of course the police started seizing everything they could
