On three occasions since January, Sen. Barack Obama's passport file was looked at by three different contract workers, said State Department spokesman Sean McCormack.
The contractors accessed information in the file in an unauthorized way, he said.

That doesn't seem to be malicious I guess the contractors were curious about such a well known man but such incidents speaks of the need to have more control over one's files. What will happen if it is state secrets instead of Obama passport file?

I agree with Wisdom - personally, just seems like a few curious idiots. But it obviously raises a question as to lapses in the preservation of privacy.

Two employees were fired and the third has been disciplined. He also received a personal apology over the phone from the Secretary of State.

it seems that they do not want to identify the contractor or the individuals involved.
i have not formed an opinion on this as of yet but it seems that the public should be informed about which contractor was involved

I agree, in the news they are vague in that regard. It seems like the news media may have been instructed not to say, because you know a good reporter is going to ask. Tell us if you find out.:)

Even it is only for personal curious,I do not think the solution is not accepted by firing and disciplining the contractor only, the government shall train their employees and tell them respect taxpayers' privacy.

Under executive Hillary orders, no females under the age of 45 will be allowed on White House property. Although, Hillary may allow herself a few boy toys here and there.
