statcounter says my domain recieved 282 Visits. Webalizer says I receieved 1022 visits for the same day. They are both set for the same time zone. I dont understand this...

Statcounter does not include visits by Search Engine bots and other similar software

Statcounter is more accurate for real human visits.

Ive been recently submitting to more directories over the last few days for one of my sites that i placed statcounter on within the last week, ive been getting approvals so my site should be definately visited by the directory owners, yet it seems like these visits or at least some of them are not showing up, i have the code pasted into a template so it should be covering the whole site.

Has anyone else found this, or other oddities? Or maybe im doing something wrong myself.

Try using awstats as this gives you exact results. This uses the log just as the weblizer but awstats is more detailed and nice
