Well, all and all good job.

I tried it out, and it is fairly accurate.

This tool is sadly only useful if you haven't done a lot of SEO. It relies on the heavily manipulated Alexa and number of backlinks.

Anyone who has optimized their off site will see their traffic inflated by 10 times or more.

Nice start though...hopefully it evolves a bit more.

Just a small update from Statbrain. I didn’t want to start a new thread, but I have to tell you about the improvements on Statbrain.

I record all visitor feedback so that I can keep track of the improvement of Statbrain. When Statbrain was launched less then 15% of the visitor estimates were close to the real visitor number. This number has increased to 25%. I know there is a long way to go, but Statbrain is being improved month by month.

With a little help from the visitors 60% of the estimates on Statbrain will be pretty close to the right visitor number.

My site shows 558 visits per day. I wish! Nice try though hopefully when it gets out of the sandbox this estimate will be correct!

I was curious as well, and my site was overestimated by a factor of 500%.
I agree that off site SEO can skew the results dramatically. Maybe add a check box that a user can use to dampen the results due to SEO?

I think it's very interesting and was fairly close on a couple of sites. I'm not sure how reliable it is either though, but I'm glad you are working on it everyday.

Also, are you using the feedback to adjust the traffic? I would think that you really couldn't rely on that too much, because some people would say "no I get a lot more traffic" and others might say their competitors get a lot less.

Also, is Statbrain getting close to 12,000 a day?
