Hi there! I'm starting work on this targeted advertising management service which will hopefully be useful to many php developers/webmasters. So, what's the big idea? Well, I originally thought of building a code within my websites that should deploy country specific banners, according to geoip location, such as Australian ads for my Australian visitors, UK ads for british visitors and so on. After a small tryout I've decided that a specific service to do this would improve productivity. The ad management idea is not new, of course! But I think this system will be quite useful due to its flexibility and I'm going to make it public. Basically, you'll have to set up zones, choose specific ads for each zone and specific targets for each ad (country, time of day, browser,...). Zones could be used on different websites, just as AdSense zones are. Oh, and it's going to be free. At least for now If all goes too well, I may charge later for some extra features or extended use, but there'll always be a free 'lite' version. Well.. What do you think? I hope that's good news for you too And the address is http://www.despre.net/adtarget/
I read your site but didn't quite understand what do the webmasters get from showing the AdTarget ads on their site? Free ads on other sites?
Have you considered a fork of phpAdsNew or working with that team. It already does geotargetting however.
I actually tried to use phpAdsNew but it was way too heavy for what I needed. That's where it all started. I just needed a much more simple ad rotation system that'll rotate only visitor specific ads. Hopefully I'll manage to do this quickly. I'll use it myself and I won't be bothered if no one else does
