Starting with affiliate marketing.

I am completely new to the affiliate marketing, just starting now. Although i am not new to the online money making. Earlier i was focused on creating sites and earning from adsense and other networks.

But since i have sold all my sites now, i want to explore the avenues of affiliate marketing. My hopes are to earn around $30,000 in next two years from this industry.

What you guys think? is it to much to expect 30,000 in two years?

Well it depends on your skillset, the niches you pick, the affiliate programs you promote, how you market and many other factors.

But yes, overall it's possible. I know affiliates that make over 30K a month.

Thing to remember is usually you won't make much in the beginning and it can be slow to build (depending on all the factors above) so you have to be committed to stick to it.

Yes i know it's slow in the beginning, that is why i have decided to give two complete years of my online skills to it. Earning 30k is very huge thing, i will be fully satisfied even if i reach 15k a year....

But lets just see how things turn up, anymore tips from members here?

$30k in 2 years is a low target if you ask me. The earning potential has no maximum and you could achieve that in 6 months if you work hard & smart enough.

The 3 best tips that I've had and found are.
    1) Launch lots
    2) Test everything
    3) Get help when it's needed

One more thing that i would like to ask is, what is the reputation of Web Host affiliates to begin with...
How many of you prefer them over traditional consumer products.

The reputation is fine as far as I know. The problem would be more about competition as it's super competitive as it pays out really good. Unless you're an expert on web hosting than I'd probably pick a different niche that you know more about.... just my suggestion. But is competitive because it is profitable so it's up to you to decide

I know that HostGator.com has one of the best affiliate programs out there. They are also very reputable as well. You might also check out hostpapa.com they specialize in green webhosting. Bluehost.com, dreamhost.com and hostmonster.com are a few other reputable ones just to name a few. Most of the large reputable wehosts also have a large reputable affiliate program.

I have not yet chosen this niche but i will be more comfortable with it.
As i am from Asia, i don't have much knowledge about popular and well performing niches in US,UK, Canada. These countries contribute maximum to the affiliate earnings.

The hosting niche is almost universal in this web 2.0 age. It can also be marketed offline in my city and country. So i am still researching over it.

But for those who don’t mind all the long hours and hard work of building and promoting websites that sell affiliate products, a great reward awaits those who learn the proper way of making this business work. Some will fail, having spent a large amount of money along the way. But for those who put the time and effort into learning and doing, there can be a Rainbow at the end of their Journey.

    Thanks.

Before you begin your venture into affiliate marketing, you need to decide first which areas interest you. What products do you know the most about and which products could you do the best job of selling?

Start with your own interests or hobbies. Books, music, movies, sports, traveling, gardening or pets are just some of the many interests that others have used to start their affiliate marketing programs.

Once you discover your specialty, you must be willing to learn the techniques of marketing your product or services. Evaluate your strengths and use them to help drive your marketing. Most important, you must have a strong desire to succeed to be a good affiliate marketer requires time and dedication.

If you’re willing to work hard, if you’re creative and dedicated, if you have patience and perserverance…then you have what it takes to be an affiliate marketer!
