Is it worth starting with a high CPC to get a higher position. For example if you start with £1 per click to get top position and therefore a higher CRT. Then drop your CPC to 50p, but with your high CRT you might keep a better position than you would have if you began with 50p?
hi, David, how are you? the quick answer is 'yes - but definitely test it for yourself & monitor the results carefully'. I don't think it's worth doing it for your longest-tail terms, typos, etc, but for terms with a lot of competitors it can work really well. I hope that helps, daniel
I have to agree with Daniel, For highly competitive keywords, starting high seems to perform best for me. For other terms I usually start real low and move slowly up
I always start high and gradually lower my bids, while split-testing my ads. This way, I retain my high position and secure a low CPC. Even if I'm aiming for, say, position five; I will start high then lower my ad into place. I find this is easier than fighting to raise my ad up into position.
Yes it's always better to bid high and get some trust and history in Google, then lower your CPC slowly. I wouldn't start at £1 then drop it to 50p that is to much of a drop. Tell us your findings all the same.
Well I've found I'm doing so well with the higher CPC, that it doesn't seem worth dropping to where I was going to. Sorry, no real findings but it seems to make sense using the tactic in my next ad.
I put 5 cents per click for one of my new site and left for couple weeks and now after 2 monts i got still 5 cents and about 50 hits per day for 5 cents and my CTR is about 8% another web site i put 5 cents and my ads havent show up for weeks than i put 30 cents and still nothing so i put 80 cents and left for few weeks and after i put every week 10 cents down and right now i got 20 cents per clikc and lat of hits
