    Hi
I want to start up the first web hosting server in my country ( I mean want the server in my region not administrating a server in UK or USA). Could you please tell me what are the requirements?
How much it will cost and what kinds of knowledge is required?
    thanks

Do you have datacenters or colocation providers in your country?

You need to have system admin skills...also you can outsource it.

You should try FreeBSD on the Intel32 hardware, just any decent machine would be enough, the more RAM memory the better, the more disk space the better, and to plug it into any dedicated line with unmetered traffic, the bandwidth would not matter much for the learning time, or you should contact your local Internet provider people and ask them about colocation services.

    Thanks for your replies
I've found out there is another regional datacenter + webhosting service already but they are very expensive so I may determine to start one.
I'm an electrical engineering student (sophomore). what should I study besides my lessons and where are online free sources?
    thanks
