Starting SEO for a new site

    When you begin a new site and have finished your insite seo such as titles, headers etc and are happy with all of that how do you start to build links?

    I usually use sitemaps, rss feeds, social networks (digg, stumbleupon) and then forum signatures.

    After that I'm never sure what is effective to do next?

    Generate the sitemap & submit it to search enignes & start building the links with the off-page optimization techniques.

    I like to build blogs and put 2-3 keywords into them that link back to my sites... the blogs should be basically an article about your site and have the anchor text built into it to link back to interior pages...I have had great success doing this... search for free blogs with do follow on google and check pr .... good luck...

    Yes, very. Lets think about this for a second.

    Your link will be placed on a well ranked site with a good Alexa ranking, the link will be surrounded by related text and the link will be do follow.

    Do you think article marketing is efficient? ;-)

    how about the yahoo seo ? my site just have 1 page at yahoo.com. I think, Google is easier than others, just submit sitemaps and waiting for 1 week. Just it.

    Its time to build backlinks in any way you can think of.... Just don't spam... That's crap.

    You can try and use the following techniques: article marketing, press release submissions, blog commenting, social bookmarking, adding signature to forum account.

    If you've done onpage SEO, submitted sitemaps to SEs, and social bookmakred, you've done a lot of the real hard work. Forum signature links is a good idea, also comment on relevant blogs, start a twitter and tweet about your different site page/articles. Also, you can submit to some directories e.g DMOZ is a very big one, but also some smaller ones, and some niche directories. Finally, you may consider buying permenant links on good PR pages.

    Other good ideas are submitting your articles to article dirs to get dofollow backlinks, press release submission, and trading links with other sites/blogs.

    first of all do on page seo tricks like title, keywords etc. and then i go for on page seo and mostly like forums and press release.
