I've tried content traffic for a week with no conversion at all, so now I'm planning to start my hand on search traffic. What I wonder are: - What's maximum CPC I should aim for? Right now I try to limit it to 1% of what I'll got from conversion. So if I got 1 conversion for every 100 clicks I'll stay even - is this too optimistic? What's average conversion rate of good search campaign? - Broad match, Phrase match, Exact match - where should I start form? - What position should I aim for? Position 1-3, 4-5 or ... ? - Any other advices or things I should look for?
woah, you're essentially asking how to set up a campaign from scratch there. Your best bet is to search for these answers from previous posts, but in answer to your questions: Content - you definitely did the right thing leaving the content network alone (unfortunately you started on there first which is a bit of a mistake but a god learning experience). The content network is cheap as chips, but conversion rates are usually really low max cpc - depends totally on your niche, your keywords, how good your website is at converting - no one can answer this for you average conversion rate of good search campaign - once again no one can answer this - depends on niche, keywords and website broad / phrase / exact - use separate campaigns for each match type. Monitor, use search query report on broad to find good / bad keywords. Add the good keywords as exact and phrasematches into the two other separated campaigns, add the bad keywords as negatives to the broad match campaign. position - 3 - 4 is usually my best roi have two ad variants testing at any given time per ad group
