I have just opened my forum - www.unblockerz.com/forum. And I'm having a real hard time on getting members/members to post. Can anyone shed any light on my problem? Would posting links to 100's of related ebooks help?

    Thanks in advance
    Numb3rs.

You have a nice site there. Getting the forum to kick start is the most difficult task, especially if your niche is kinda overcrowded. Think out of the box and see if you can offer something unique rather than duplicate the other boards. You need to put some utility stuff that could attract repeat visitors, e.g. an ebook a day. Create some content with different names to help new visitors to know that the forum is indeed active. You can use paid forum posters to start off. And yes, make sure you give a link in your sig.

getting member for a proxy forum is really hard, i get alot off vistors per day and still dont manage to get any sign up's. everyone has a proxy site these days so your site is just 1 out off a million. you need to offer somthing unqiue to your viewers in return for good traffic / signup's

Yes, i agree that it would be a little bit more harder to get members for your niche.. try to optimize for search engines.

Also you may want to invest a little money in buying paid posts. I kicked off a forum pretty well that way.

I have a huge collection of ebooks, do you think making these accesable to members would be a good idea?

Freebies to forum members is always a good idea...Starting a forum community off can be a difficult task, but just keep promoting and make sure you stay active in the community too.

Paid posts are the best way to kick off a forum if you have the money, but could take some time for it to take off

What makes your forum different from any others? Only when it's unique will it be successful.
