Hello friends, this is my first post and I want to ask how should I optimize my blog so that it can have good value in search engines.
Write useful and unique content every day related to your niche. Pick out 2 or 3 keywords you want to target and start going after the least competitive one first. Use your keywords in your title, description, and page copy. Build lots and lots of backlinks from other sites using your keywords as anchor text, but stay away from link farms and link exchanges. It seems everyone and their dog and cat have a useless blog with little content and absolutely no use to anyone and think they can get rich from it, don't do that. If your blog is about viagra, diet pills, or any other spammy junk topic and you're just hoping to use it to make a little ad revenue without actually doing any work then forget it, the world already has enough of those. If you have a unique idea that not everyone else is doing that people would actually be interested in, willing to put in the work to add fresh unique content daily and build links, and not just setting up a spam blog then you'll have a good start and eventually you'll start getting traffic from the search engines. Just remember Rome wasn't built in a day and your blog isn't going to make you rich over night, and probably never will, however do it right and you can make a little extra scratch from it.
You need update your blog everyday and remember the quality of the article is first. Write something peoples like; you can also make some promotion for your blog, like: post in the forum, write articles in other website, exchange links with other high PR website and more ..
If not everday, you should update your blog frequently and regularly, at least 2 - 3 articles a week. As these two above referred content is king which should be remembered all the time! If your blog is really interesting or informative, send those links to social media sites like digg, reddit, especially twitter and facebook, linkedin is also very good. First I would say do some research on the net. For example atleast for a week or two, go through all the DP threads and posts, read carefully, dont just post comments to increase your backlinks of a new blog/site. Ask questions in every thread you read and get answers from the experts. Some will agree and some will deny the methods you are been explained in various categories. Keep a note of all of them. Put in xl-sheet or word documents. DO NOT copy any content from the web for your articles. Don't go for quantity as you have a new blog/site, go for Quality. Even if you right one or two articles a week is absolutely fine. Make sure to bookmark them in all the possible social bookmarking sites. Ping your blog/site once a week. All this will take you a month from now on with some general idea about the SEO and atleast 8-10 articles on your new blog/site. After a month come back again and let me know what you learnt

Blog should be on a topic which could be update as early as possible, and promotion of blog is also necessary, so do promotion on related sites, leave your link on related sites, forum, do blog commenting, social marketing is also good way to promote your site or blog. But the most important thing is keyword selection, if your keywords are exactly indicate your subject, it will be really helpful.
when it comes to blog marketing you should go for more interaction with people so more and more people will come to know about your blog and if you will get unique traffic your page rank will be automatically get updated
After I've added a page to a blog I post links to it on various sites. (Snipsly.com is my current favourite as it gives an 80% share of adsense and kontera). If I reckon I've already an article published somewhere which is relevant to the blog entry I add my own version of a text add in it. Sometimes I go back to articles which I copy and add to my blog. I then edit the old article to the minimum of words it needs with a notice (something like): READ THE UPDATED VERSION OF THIS ARTICLE CLICK HERE - this seems to work well. Yesterday, a new blog/shop kind of thing I made with blogger.com and amazon associates and monetised with adsense earned a few quid and it had only been published for 3 days. Another of my blogs (celebrity based) ranks on page 1 or 2 (it varies) on Google SERs + I have 3-4 articles on page 2 with links to the main blog. This only took 2 weeks to achieve. Time consuming but it costs nothing and makes some money! PS If I find that a page generates a goodly sum I calculate what it make per 1,000 page impressions and start an adword campaign based on that sum which I halve or quarter - eg if it makes 10p per page impression I set the adword limit to a maximum of 5p and use as many long tailed (I think that is the term) keywords.
