    Hi,

I already run a little community (I like running forums) and since the forum is running by it self, it's time to start another project.

I already did my home work and I need some thoughts about the niche I should go for.

The new community will not be in English and the niche I was thinking was one of this:

    - Webmaster ( Very comfortable and with some experience),
    - SEO (learning ...),
    - Media and TV (Internet, Broadband, IPTV, TV, etc)
    - General Forum,
    - Parenting (Well, I'm a parent my self [IMG] ),
    - Cooking and receipts (everyone needs to eat),
    - ... suggestions if you have.

What I would like to know from you is:

    - Growing Difficulty,
    - Revenue of the niche (Only AdSense),
    - Community management,
    - Other thoughts that you would like to share.

    Thanks

    n

I started a forum once, never again! At first it seemed impossible to get it off the ground. The problem is that people dont like to post on quiet or empty forums so I would advise filling it out a bit before you start promoting.
forums are notorious for low adsense earnings. I think you would make more money from affiliate links...Maybe within the posts, repeat visitors become blind to the adsense you see, so unless you have a big turnover of visitors you are going to struggle with adsense.

I believe that it is nearly impossible to start a forum by itself however if you already have a popular site with lots of visits you can add a forum to that site and you will already have a strong userbase, kind of like DP.

    HI,

The ideia is starting a new forum from the ground.
I know it's hard because I already start one this way ... 2 years agoo, and now is running.

forums take a lot of time to gain traction, you are better having a front end using vbadavanced or using wordpress to bring people to the front and then promoting the forum from that.
