Starting new blog/website

Hi DP!

I'm planning to start a new blog or website and my goal is to get much further than all my previous attempts.
It would be a webmaster/webhosting niche, but I'm affraid this niche is too saturated these days.

What do you guys (maybe girls) think about it? Is it smart to start a webmaster/webhosting blog/website?

 

If your content is great, then it's a good thing, you know webmaster blogs get alot of advertisement coming ? esp from ppl who want to build new hosting service, ad service, etc

 

I know, that's why I see potential monetizing

 

I think that it would be a great idea. Just a few tips:

Try to create content which is unique to you and is of high quality.
Don't over do it with the ads - try and stick to one-two ads per page.
NO POP-US whatsoever - they tend to drive your visitors away.
Webmaster/web hosting blogs would be good since lots more people of all ages are making websites and are seeking advice.

If you stick to the above tips I think you have a good chance of becoming successful.

 

And what would you suggest: blog or website?

I think a blog would be too difficult to keep creating unique web hosting content.
The website would be an informational website with the most popular topics about web hosting.

 

its too saturated. there are too many webmasters site/forum that are struggling to get real loyal users.
you gotta think what will be the things in your site that can't be in DP.

 

Choose niche of your interested after research how much beneficial for you to adpot and then put 100% efforts and learn.Post keyword oriented content and submitted to directories and bookmarking websites.

 

I have many niches that I'm interested in: webmaster, technology, games, programming, computers general ...
Like etc said, it think a webmaster website isn't a good idea.

Now I've been thinking again about an other niche that I'm very interested in: technology.
This would be a good niche to create a blog about. I would post reviews/previews about the latest technology, maybe a bit games but mainly hardware.

 

Now thats a good idea, I've even created a technology blog, geekhang.com.

 

Dont expect positive things to happen in just few days, writing and posting Unique contents will be a continuous process.
With such a saturated niche it will be difficult for you to compete in the market but you constant efforts can certainly help you to make more money.

 

just do it what u can believe u can do best for it .. i think is great starting new blog like that ..

 

Considering there are trillions of websites on the net, I hope your niche is very specific.
