I am an affiliate marketer and recently decided to launch an eCommerce site in one of my profitable niches. I can increase my profit from 8% to 35%. I will send my current affiliate site visitors to my eCommerce site. I intend to use PayPal for payment processing. WordPress will be the content management system using Market Theme (unless someone has a better recommendation). I will use a dedicated IP with BlueHost or HostGator and SSL. Probably BlueHost Have already made drop ship arrangements with a manufacturer and received their wholesale price list. I have never set up an eCommerce site. There are some things I would like to clear up before I proceed. How does the shopping cart integrate with the site. - Does the shopping cart auto generate the pages on the site? - Does the shopping cart import the price list which is in xlsx format. - Do I have to create a page for each product. - If pages are auto generated by the shopping cart program can I make changes to each page? - Of course I want the site to be search engine friendly so are there things I should be aware of or concerned about? Pretty much everything about shopping cart integration and setup are where I have questions. Any advise would be very much appreciated.
hello, i would suggest using Zen cart where you can use a plugin called "Easy Populate". You can upload all your products list at one time in CSV file. you can make one by one changes to any products you want on Zen cart. I would suggest that you try to set it up first as a trial. You may proceed if you like it and you got nothing to lose as it is free.
Hello, Donald! If you mean a standalone shopping cart script, I can answer your questions. - Does the shopping cart import the price list which is in xlsx format. Yes, most of the shopping carts can do this. But the format may be different. - Do I have to create a page for each product. You will need to add the product information (name, price, image etc.) into a special form in the admin panel, after that the product page will appear in the storefront. - If pages are auto generated by the shopping cart program can I make changes to each page? Yes, you can control each product page. - Of course I want the site to be search engine friendly so are there things I should be aware of or concerned about? The modern shopping carts usually includes the SEO module which allows to use HTML links for products. I personally use CS-Cart and like it a lot.
