Its a HUGE category list! I think for a beginner like you it will be too broad. Lot of hard work will be required to maintain and update the blog. I see you are targeting the Indian market.

Lets take one by one.(Keeping in mind of the Indian Market)
For news you have to compete with google, yahoo,Msn, Cnbc, bbc, Indiatimes, rediff (All of them promote heavily including television and print ads)

technology : Again its a huge niche . Fierce competition. You have to be on your toes all the time.

City guides : Again HUGE. You have to compete with yellow pages, Yahoo city guide and numerous travel sites. Again people will want complete info. Info of just 10 cities will not do.

As I see it the rest of the categories are also very very huge market and really really difficult to target.

My suggestion will be to start small and them after you know the tricks of the trade you expand.

For an example Technology itself is a BIG niche. Start small. make a blog about Nokia Cell phones available in India. Try to rank high for some good keywords in this niche. Start with something you are passionate about or something you know very well that you would like others to know about. Like your expertise on web programming
and your take on the opportunities in India and abroad.

Just my thought! I may be completely wrong!

well for Microsoft technologies you can try a Blog engine .net Platform!!

 

As of now m happy with blogger, the only thing is that its a real pain to design a custom template for blogger, but its the fun part of it also.

 

Hey Amit, Your plan and design looks good. But I think you should ask for feedback on the design once that is complete. If you can improve usability on your design you will be able to make a lot of money since you cover a broad range of topics.

 

Dido on this suggestion. You might want to consider using WordPress. I started out with Blogger and would never use it again.

 

After initially starting on Blogger, if you are serious about money, I would say go for Wordpress, other than that the goals all seem achievable and I wish you all the best.

I would also always suggest Micro Niche Finder (You can read about it in my footer links) as it has helped me rank high in search engines for specific long tail keywords.

 

You are missing a category called "The Kitchen Sink"

This blog will go nowhere - it is the most unfocused website I have ever heard of. Pick a topic (niche) and stick to it.

 

seriously you are making a huge mistake by not buying your own domain name

 

This domain/sub-domain isn't easy to remember...maybe you should find something else?

 

I have my own doamin name, which i will be pointing to blogger using blogger custom domain service

 

Hello Amit, Best wishes for your blog and all the future plan, I am sure after seeing ur posts that you can easily achieve the target.

 

Your domain should have its own IP address, I guess...does Blogger offers something like this?
