I am planning to start my new website from a scratch, it will be mix of blog, directory and some free stuff that i will make by myself (templates, themes, software).

My question is, what kind of domain would be better:
    - 3 word domain with some keywords related to my website
    - 4 letters ALMOST :p prounanceble domain

I guess that for branding second option would be better but what do you guys think?

I would go for the second option, as I think such domains are easier to remember.

Total depends on how good the 3 word domain is, and also the length of it.
I myself normally prefer these over the 4 letter domain you have mentioned.

Almost pronounceable is the same as saying NOT pronounceable, so.. :p

    Hehe, i know :)

But this is kind of chinese word. Like Ying or Yang. I mean it is something you can't pronounce clearly using only english language.

Last statment is a bit confusing but i do not know how to better explain it.

Foreign words are pronounceable, just a maybe a bit more difficult for English speakers.

Then again if it is something like hxuw, i would go with the 3 word one.

I would go with the 4 letter domain name if It is atleast something pronounceable. Because after taking the 3 keywords domain name you have to do the marketing then why not do it on 4 letter domain.

Anyway thanks for your anwsers, now i am thinking of buying 5 letters .net domain, as nice 4 letters .com are rather hard to find not to mention buying them.

Shame you didn't win the auction, because that name would have worked well.

Although everybody says you need a .com name, I think sheer weight of numbers is going to mean that .net names will be seen more and more, and will soon become well known and well recognized.

I would stick to a .com if you are going to brand it as you otherwise will loose typeins to the .com version.
