Starting Domain Seller

    Hello all,

I've been a web developer for about 8 years now and I've accumulated a fair number of domains. Some I've had time to develop - others not so much. I'm looking to sell some rather than just sit on them. I've sold a couple of pretty good domains in the past couple of years but I have some premium names that I would like to market.

Any tips for best ways to do so? I'm on Sedo, Afternic, and GoDaddy. I've also started checking out the big forums. Are there any that I should focus on in particular? Thanks and greetings to all!

Rather than just listing them on the aftermarket websites, you should try to proactively find potential end users. Use search engines and other methods for finding domains/business that are similar to yours. Then, contact them and let them know you've got the domain for sale.

That's a great idea. I hadn't considered direct marketing like that. I'll start looking around. Appreciate the suggestion!

There are various providers in the market who can get your portfolio of Premium domain names good amount of visibility.
The most well known being - AfterNIC, Sedo, Namedrive,DNSForum, Aftermarket.com
I agree with FPForum, you should research on the companies or people for whom a specific premium domain name would be valuable. Make a list and reach them through various channels. However, you can get a better price if you list them on a website

You can also developed a site with good content according to domain and create some backlinks. so that your site will get traffic and you can monetize your site in different way or you can use the site to sale backlinks that are relevant to your site.

I also agree with FPForum, you need to actively search and contact potential buyers yourself.

If you truly have an outstanding keyword rich domain, buyers will find you. I myself have tried to sell domains, buying 100+ without any success.

Selling domains is extremely hard today because there are ao many alternatives to buying such as different extensions.

If you're into developing sites, I strongly recommend branding a site and name instead of just a keyword rich domain. Google doesn't add much value anymore to an exact match domain (EMD). Get traffic and make advertising income. It'll be more appealing for buyers if your site is already making money.

    Goodluck!
