Hello, great info on here. My brother inlaw has a sucessful website business selling sports products & ive been recently thinking about setting up a website under my own domain name to drop ship for him for a very small percentage per product. My question is would this really benifit him,eg the added exposure from another website (one that would be well turned out)? thanks for any help.
If you advertise in different places then yes it would be good, if your advertising in the same places and taking his custom then no it would be useless to him unless you were purchasing the items off him at his resale price What is the site/Products i may have an oppertunity for you on my sports site please pm me his site so i can see the products i may have a good outlet for you to sell products
Tony hit the nail on the head. It all depends on whether you broaden his customer base. However, if he makes similar profit regardless of whether you sell his products or he sells them himself, in the worst case scenario, he makes nearly the same total profit regardless of whether you drop ship or not but it is much more likely that he would benefit since it would be difficult for you to steal only his potential customers without at all adding to his customer base.
If you are successful and the new site did not cannibalize sales from the existing one, it would definitely be a financial help to him (and to you). First, you would need to determine whether or not you could make a second site successful.
Thanks for the help.If the person i'm drop shipping for sends the item(s), bought through my site,to a customer with his webite address on the packaging (isnt this how it always works?),does this mean that i have to have a slightly lower price to keep them going back to my site? Cheers all.
It depends a lot of dropshippers now send blank statpnary or some even send yours although that s very rare
