Starting Business Directory - Need Help

Hi,

I want to start a business directory, just confused which software should I use.

Should I setup a simple phpLD powered directory and list businesses...? (phpLD $25)

Or I should use business directory script such as phpmydirectory? (phpmydirectory $100)

Have any one tried it already?

For a business directory I would recommend phpmydirectory

I have used it before and it seems to be the only business directory script that offer so many business related features.

You may also have a look at phpLynx - pretty good for this purpose but not as powerful as phpmydirectory

A really good idea, if you know what you need a script to do then you can look out for those features in a script, i use phpld on 4 but i dont want to suggest any particular script incase its not right for you.

 

The best directory script out for business at the moment and its just my opinion is the phpLynx one at only $45. phpmydirectory is also good, not really sure if phpld is up to the mark for a full blown business model although with a bit of modding it might be.

It's your choice all said and done so good luck whatever you do.

 

Or you could get something custom coded of course, and kick all our butts.

 

lol, wanna bet. Seriously, there is so much you can do to enhance things but to keep on track will not mention that here and keep for another day.

 

But cutom coded with a nice budget for it, a good skilled coder and your own good ideas, im sure that would be better as its not the same as the other scripts then.

I cant afford that, its a nice thought though for anyone who could.

 

Why re-invent the wheel when there are scripts already out there that do just about everything you need to get a fully functional vertifcal portal? But in saying that, yes the benefit of having your own script coded with unique ideas is you could get to copyright them before anyone else. It is expensive though.
