Starting BID < $5 ---> Freebies section?

    Dear Mods. I have a question for you:

    If I start an auction with a starting bid below $5, does it belong in freebies section? Cuz I'm pretty sure that it will sell above 5 dollars. Then again, what if it doesn't. :confused:

    Thanks in advance!

    I think this one is pretty much self expanatory? Freebies are free right? $5 surely doesn't fall into free, right?

    Nope, I'm pretty sure about the $5 limit but, I don't know if it applies to the auctions.

    Lets see what mods have to say about this..

    Anything below $5 goes to freebies. If you think you'll get more than $5 anyway then just ask more as a starting bid. But do not ask $5.01. Ask minimum $6.

    I guess above posts are wrong.

    If you are selling anything at $5 or less, it belongs in the Freebies. Sine you are talking about an "auction", it doesn't beong in the freebies. As an auction can go to more than $5 easily. Just make sure you mention that its an auction in the thread title by using words like "Starting bid $5", etc...

    I've seen auctions that start on $5 and don't go above. Since it is an auction why don't you ask more than $5? It doesn't makes sense. Do not play with fire. What is below $5 goes to freebies.

    You ever visited the domains section? Many auctions start at $1, some even at $0. Some also get sold at $3, 4, 5, etc... Why don't mod issue them an infraction?

    In that case I don't comment. I'm learning to ask more than $5 no matter what just to make sure everything it's ok.

    If your thread related to 'Starting BID < $5' then its not belongs to Freebies. Make sure that your BIN price is above $5 in that case. Or else if your BIN price is also below $5 then it belongs to Freebies.

    The basic policy is this - if the deal can happen at $5 or less, you may not exchange iTrader on it, and it therefore belongs in freebies (same with other services where one service is $5 or less and others are more - whole thread goes in freebies, or they have to break it between two threads so they're not amassing iTrader on the low-end deals).

    Your best bet is to start the bidding at higher than $5 if you don't want it in freebies. Either that, or make it very clear in the thread that the reserve price is higher than that, so a deal cannot happen at $5 or less.
