Starting an eBook eCommerce Website?

    I want to know if it worth it starting an ebook e-commerce website? or its best if i sell something else? i want some opinions...

    As long as you make sure that your books are compatible with the major players (Kindle, iPad, Nook), you should be great. The only other thing to consider is your content delivery system. You need to make sure that:

    A) The downloads are extremely easy via your site (I use PrestaShop for my site, which makes downloadable products very easy to sell)
    B) It's simple and easy to transfer the eBooks from your store to their respective devices.

    your idea is good to open a ebook e-commerce website, book lover people will love that. if you want you can go for others also with the ebook.

    Yes, you can start your own. There are some scripts available to make your ecommerce site, rather than you can avail SaaS ecommerce service like ZSCART where you can just pay monthly rent to hold a shop for your own.

    Look, with some decent software a nicely done theme and a good range of content it does have huge possibilities but a fair bit of money would need to be spent in Marketing and SEO areas for it to succeed simply because their is a lot of competition from relatively big players such as Amazon and Apple and then plenty of smaller ones.

    Well, great idea, especially if you'll offer books of different formats... That would be really great, however here is the problem with copyright, cause if you e.g. convert books from one format to other by yourself that, maybe it will demand special rights or so...

    As for shopping cart software choice, I would highly recommend you to choose magento commerce shopping cart - it is the most preferable one.

    What a brilliant idea! I have never thought about competing with the big ballers like Barnes and Amazon. But it is like a bookstore... you need a niche boutique to get the stuff people dont want to buy from major corporations. Good luck! I am rooting for you!

    Starting an eBook store can be very profitable, selling other products in your store along with your eBook might be a great idea as well as this can really maximize profit !!!!
