I am thinking of starting an affiliate network designed for webmasters in my country. I have see that most affiliate networks use directtrack.com but can't use them because there pricing is very high. Could you recommend any other good affiliate tracking software?

If anyone has any experience in this field please give me some advices. I want to be able to take a campaign from a current affiliate network and then promote it trough my network. Hope I make sense :)

Honestly, I would not use out of the box software. I would definately get it custom coded.

I think there's a couple affiliate scripts out there to help you build your own network. But first I would question why you want to do it when there's already many good affiliate networks out there?

I think Alstrasoft makes an affiliate network script.

I would do it for the webmasters in my country. Many of them don't use any international affiliate network as users here don't really buy stuff from outside, online. And this kind of network would be good here because local sellers will have a network to promote their products.

I would re-iterate not using out of the box software. I am currently exploring the possibility of setting up an affiliate network/program and I would definitely either code it myself or hire someone to do the coding for me.

    I agree.

I would also not use out of the box software. It is better to get it coded by someone who knows what he/she is doing or by yourself. It is good to have a good reconized software, but then again it can have it's disadvantages when it comes to security risks.

For example, if you made your own software then you will only know how you have put it together.

If you buy it of the shelve then all someone has to do is to also buy the same software and then look at the code in detail and try to find holes in the code where he/she can attempt to hack the sites that are using that software.

What features are you looking in your affiliate tracking software?
I ask because I am currently writing one. Affiliates register, then are given an ID or URL to promote.
If sales are generated from that ID, it will show in affiliates account and an email will be sent to affiliate. The administrater or product seller will then pay them after the elapse of 45 /60day charge back period.

I am writing it for personal use where I intend on selling less than 10 products or services. If later I feel, I need more products lined up, I will add them too here.

What are you looking for in your software?
    Regards
