Well my friend and me are starting a site and he is designing an awesome software that I am not telling anyone about until it is finished. I was just curious about one thing. If we sell this software for $39.95 and we want an affiliate program that will give the people a good ammount of money. How much should we offer? Is $5 for a 39.95 dollar item good?
No way thats honestly is way too low, I would suggest atleast half. ClickBank affiliates often offer half of software or service earnings, sometimes they even offer more than half, you might think this is crazy but it gives serious incentive to people to sell your software.
Hmm maybe to start out we should give half away just to get more and more people interested and if it goes well keep it at that rate
If the software is good then maybe you need to compare the software with other similar affiliate software that offers the same to similar features before you price the software. After that then also see how much they are roughly paying with their affiliate program if they have one. I know that with software the commission is higher. I would normally suggest around about 25% minimum, but more like around 35%-50% if you want to have a competitive affiliate program.
Doesn't really matter, first you must build a market for it and to do that you have to give people a real reason to sell it, they are only going to sell it for two reasons and that are: 1. Something Thats Worth Selling and They See Potential In 2. Most Importantly is that they see potential profit. you shouldn't consider your softwares unique approach as a reason why people would simple embrace it, if anything it might make it more difficult to market but on the other hand it can also have an appeal because of how different it is. Overall like I've said the most important thing is to be competative and to do that you have to be willing to give more to get more.
Well I know people will like the software and we may give a test run to people using the affiliate program.
