    Guys..

i am thinking of starting a website similar to flashden.net... do you think there is something you guys can help me with.

basically it's a market place where developers from all around the world can come and sell their applications (only flash based)

they give us out 40% to 70% of the amount of the what they charge customer; and i think that's a good volume.

basically, i know how to get a freelancers who want to sell their stuff online and i know i am gonna have a lot..

so, do you guys have an idea of anything like this?

i think there is no other marketplace like this online?

    is there a one?

help me guys.. i need to start this.

    thanks!

Well,it seems good idea. But maybe it's a little difficult. Those guys may not like to cooperate with you for your
website is definitely new and not popular.I think if you really want to do this, the most important thing is to
promote your website and make it famous. Then there will be guys willing to join you.

The question is where to find the client that want to buy service from developer.
For example, now day you can see that many people sell thing that people buy thing.
I do suggest chose other niche than flash such as php or java.

There are tons who have tried similar sites and failed, some are still up there not doing so good.

If you google "Flash components", you will get a list of quite a few sites that do that already, and if you look at sales on the less popular ones (most of them), you will see there isn't much there.

Not only you will try and compete with Flashden that now have an extensive network with over 250000 members, but one thing has just happened: Adobe contacted Flashden so they remove Flash from their name (stupid by the way) which will be done on Monday, and many people think it looks like Adobe may enter the flash stock market any time soon...I don't need to tell you to forget to try and compete with Adobe.

Anyways, you can try if you want, but you will have to pump tons of cash into it if you want to stand a chance. I would suggest you think of another niche as someone mentioned, why not silverlight for example, not many marketplaces for this around.

It is great idea indeed. I think charging flash application programmers 40% to 70% is much more than their strength. The other important point is you should launch your portal first and make it famous so that your team at least not suffer of low traffic. Probably they give up idea to be part of your team. Anyways, idea is not bad at all. Best of luck.
