From what I've seen, I think they can be very profitable. I've seen someone offering $10 for writing the press release, then offering $5 per press website to release it to or $45 to all 10! If you get a good few customers you could be making few hundred $ per day fast, or even more if you establish yourself correctly. I was thinking of doing the same, but I don't really have the time to do it.

so far there is no existing script that can do you a press release site.
you might need to modify and existing articles type site or customise a web directory type product.

but if there is someone out there offering a press release script, there will certainly be quite a few customers...

    cheers

Try looking in hotscripts.com. Plenty of free scripts there.
I don't know of any script like what you are asking.

Yes, I've seen quite a few making some good money, the only problem is getting a script, coding one will certainly not be cheap.

we writers get paid higher for press releases compared to articles and content.
I have a few regular clients and get good business from them. if you manage to establish yourself and rope in a few regular customers you can make in multiples of $1000. Just make sure you have a good team of competent writers, good luck :)

It would be highly profitable, if it gets known.

It would be very hard to compete, and you'd need quiet a bit of funds to get your brand awareness campaign running.
