I had a friend who signed up with a similar company for VB programming, the support and help was none existent. I would seriously consider speaking to someone else who has done the course.

Also you must keep in mind if there is a job for you at the end of the course.

If you are not currently working and or are youngish 18-21 and you have no commitments I would go the university route or at least see if there is ant government funding for similar courses.

Yes, CompTIA is a good introductory certification to have. As posted above, their certifications are international so even if you get certified in the USA you can still show that in Europe as proof and be ok. Unfortunately, the CompTIA certifications hold no weight on their own. I took CompTIA certifications in high school for free!!!! I have never heard of anyone making more money with these certifications. The certification only tells employers that you are disciplined and put in time to learn the material. It doesn't tell them how well you know the tools or anything.

Let me give you an example. In high school I took the Hardware and Software computer certification course and passed the CompTIA exam. Luckily my teacher was actually good and provided us with many computers to disassemble and repair and maintain. My friend also passed the exam and he couldn't put a computer together for the life of him. He only studied the book.

So like I said, having the certification is great but it in no way tells employers that you KNOW what you're doing. If you have to pay more then $500 for a course AND the voucher for the exam I would stay away. You'll waste a lot of time memorizing quiestions and drilling multiple choice questions for months.
